17. Student images, videos, voice recordings, and student work

For additional details about how FCA captures and uses photos, videos, voice recordings, and student work in institutional communications, marketing, partner presentations, and events, please review our Media Consent page.

FCA may create and use photos, videos, audio recordings (including voice), testimonials, and examples of student work in connection with FCA programs and school activities.

17.1 Purposes

Where applicable and subject to appropriate consent, these materials may be used for:

  • institutional communications and program information
  • coverage of school life and events
  • marketing and promotional communications related to FCA programs (including online and offline communications and, where applicable, paid campaigns)
  • materials for families, educational partners and agencies (for example presentations, brochures and event materials)
  • publication through FCA-controlled channels (for example websites and official social media)

17.2 Editing, production and service providers

These materials may be edited for format (for example cropping, subtitles, translations, design layouts and compilation videos) while remaining consistent with an educational and institutional context.

FCA may use service providers to support production, editing, storage and publication. These providers receive only what they need and must protect personal information and handle it only as instructed by FCA.

17.3 Minors and identification

When materials involve minors, FCA takes additional care to reduce unnecessary identification. FCA avoids publishing sensitive personal information and does not publish official identifiers.

Where consent is provided and appropriate for the context, FCA may identify a student using limited identifiers such as:

  • first name and one surname, or first name and initial
  • grade and country of origin
  • first name and country of origin

As a general practice, FCA avoids publishing a student’s full legal name and avoids combining unnecessary details that may increase risk on public channels.

17.4 Consent and withdrawal

Use of student images, voice recordings and student work for communications and promotional purposes may require specific consent from a parent or legal guardian, depending on the context and applicable law.

You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us using the details in Section 15. Withdrawal applies to future use. FCA will make reasonable efforts to remove materials from FCA-controlled channels where feasible. However, full removal may not be possible in all cases, including where:

  • materials have been shared or reposted by third parties
  • materials appear in media coverage not controlled by FCA
  • materials have been printed or distributed for events or partners
  • technical limitations (such as platform caches or backups) prevent immediate deletion

17.5 Relationship with student enrolment documents

For enrolled students, additional rules and consent terms may apply under FCA’s official student documents (for example handbooks, agreements or school forms). If there is any inconsistency, the official FCA student documents take precedence for admitted or enrolled students.
