This Media Consent page explains how Fredericton Christian Academy (FCA) may capture and use photos, videos, and voice recordings (including audio in video) in connection with FCA programs, activities, partner engagements, and events.

This page should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information, your rights, and how to contact us for requests (including access, correction, and deletion).

What this covers

  • Capture of photos, video, and audio during FCA-related activities
  • Use of these materials in institutional communications and promotion
  • Limited identification of students when appropriate
  • Withdrawal of authorization and reasonable removal efforts

1. Recording notice

FCA regularly captures photos, video, and audio as part of school life and program activities.

Recording may occur during school activities and events (including, for example, classes, sports, trips, ceremonies, graduation events, formal dances, presentations, and partner engagements), both on campus and off campus in Canada and Latin America, where FCA and its authorized representatives may document program activities and outcomes.

2. What may be captured

  • Photos (individual and group)
  • Video recordings (including short-form and long-form content)
  • Voice recordings (including interviews, testimonials, and audio in video)
  • Testimonials and statements about student experiences
  • Student work (for example projects, artwork, presentations), presented in an educational context

3. How FCA may use these materials

Where applicable and subject to appropriate consent, FCA may use these materials for:

  • Institutional communications and program information
  • Marketing and promotion of FCA programs, including online and offline communications
  • Partner communications, presentations, and educational outreach
  • Event materials and program documentation
  • Publication through FCA-controlled channels (for example FCA websites and official social media channels)
  • Paid campaigns where applicable (for example sponsored posts or digital advertising)

Materials may be edited for format and clarity (for example cropping, subtitles, translations, design layouts, and compilation videos) while remaining consistent with an educational and institutional context.

4. Student identification

When FCA identifies a student in public materials, FCA generally uses limited identifiers when appropriate, such as:

  • first name and one surname, or first name and initial
  • grade and country of origin
  • first name and country of origin

As a general practice, FCA avoids publishing a student’s full legal name and avoids publishing unnecessary details that could increase risk.

5. Minors and additional care

When materials involve minors, FCA takes additional care to reduce unnecessary identification and to avoid publishing sensitive personal information or official identifiers.

6. Service providers and platforms

FCA may use service providers and platforms to support production, editing, storage, and publication of media materials. These providers receive only what they need and are required to protect information and handle it only as instructed by FCA.

When materials are published on third-party platforms, their terms and privacy practices apply in addition to FCA’s policies.

7. Withdrawal and removal requests

You may request to withdraw authorization or request removal of materials by contacting FCA using the details below. Withdrawal applies to future use. FCA will make reasonable efforts to remove materials from FCA-controlled channels where feasible.

However, full removal may not be possible in all cases, including where:

  • materials have been shared or reposted by third parties
  • materials appear in media coverage not controlled by FCA
  • materials have been printed or distributed for events or partners
  • technical limitations (such as platform caches or backups) prevent immediate deletion
