Host Families

How the Host Family program works?
Each student is carefully assigned to a local family, according to their profile and preferences. The selection of families follows strict criteria, ensuring that they are prepared to offer emotional support, a structured routine and cultural integration. Furthermore, because of the daily interaction, the student practices English in real situations, which speeds up learning.
During the program period, students participate in family activities, respect house rules and learn local customs. This natural immersion strengthens the sense of responsibility and broadens the understanding of different lifestyles.
Why Host Families Matter?
There are numerous benefits to this form of hosting. In short, living with a Canadian family allows the student to go beyond the school environment and immerse themselves in the country’s culture. This develops empathy, respect and intercultural communication skills.

How family selection works?
FCA staff visit, interview and train each family before approval. Host homes need to present stability, a welcoming environment and a commitment to the well-being of students. After selection, communication between the school, family and guardians remains active throughout the program.
If doubts or difficulties arise, the local coordination intervenes quickly, ensuring harmony and student comfort.
